Haba Shrine

Haba (aka Nne) is a powerful female deity. She is regarded as the consort of Ududonka. Haba is revered  and honored throughout Igbo land. Her sacred and historic shrine  is located about three miles southeast of Ududonka in the scenic Haba valley and erosion site in Ukunu village. The valley also provides drinking water to surrounding villages through a natural spring.

Haba and Ududonka are believed to be the protectors of Agulu people..  These two influential deities who seem to control the affairs of the people are known.to be created by God but were merely vested with powers to rule. According to the. Haba priest “Habba whose servant I am and Ududonka (aka Ogbuefi ) are known to be. created by God.  God gave them powers which are liable to withdrawal by God if He so wishes.  God has power over them and can stop their action.”.  An Uduonka priest corroborates this statement -
